A normal menstrual cycle ranges from 28 to 35 days. If you are searching for ways to induce a period naturally when it is late and not due to pregnancy, here we have ayurvedic remedies for the same.

Please also consult your healthcare provider for assistance with your late period. It may be a sign of other health conditions.

Irregular menstruation mainly occurs due to thyroid abnormalities, PCOD issues, or hormonal imbalances.

The cycles can also be delayed due to mental stress, physical illness, improper lifestyle, anemia, or travel.

In Ayurveda, anaartavam (delayed period) is caused due to excessive Kapha and Vata dushti.

This is an imbalance of Kapha and Vata in the supportive systems of the body, the dhatus. Additionally, the apana vayu which expels the artavam (menstrual fluid) is blocked.

Artavam is considered Pitta in nature and so foods that increase Pitta in the body are known to produce the desired results.

Here are some Ayurvedic home remedies to increase Pitta, improve the downward energy of Vata, and induce your period.
